Aussie's Illness

I copied this from Aussie's blog into my blog:

Right after my trip to the CapeSoft World Tour event in Las Vegas, I developed a case of Shingles.

Oh boy, you do not want to experience this. Luckily my case was not as bad as it could have been. I did visit a doctor in time (must be within 48 hours of the appearance of the rash) to be prescribed the anti-viral tablets. The outbreak appeared just a week before we were to take a road trip to Nashville with friends. I managed to endure the trip by taking pain killers. Not much could be done about the rash. It just has to take its course.

My friends were great, and they managed to endure my suffering by imbibing in alcoholic beverages. Thanks go to Candace, Bill, Sandra, Skip and Sharon for your support.

If you are round-about the age of 60, and had chicken-pox as a child, then you would be well advised to see you doctor about having the newly available vaccine for us oldies. The USA FDA approved its use just last year.

Here I sit, three weeks on, and beginning to feel great again.

Aussie's New Website

Our new website is up and running at long last! We have a newly standardized version (above) of our Loan Manager Corporate program for sale on the site. It's very exciting for us as getting the program to a standard version and away from the current per client customization has been a dream of ours for several years. Several companies and banks in Australia and South Africa use our custom program. Now we hope to increase sales with the standardized version.

Blog Milestone

It's a milestone for That's Not Writing, That's Typing! I finally reached a 1000 views. According to my comments and my cluster map, I have hits from all over the world. When you consider that there are 6 billion people in the world, it puts my 1000 hits into perspective, but I'm still happy to have people read what I have written and return to read the posts again. As all of you who write blogs know, it's lots of fun to write these posts. I love to read other people's blogs too. It's an odd feeling of intimacy to think of other people sitting at their keyboards writing for themselves and for everyone else. When I read a recent post, I always think "someone just typed and posted that!" It took nearly four months to tally the first 1000 hits on my blog. How long will it take to tally the next 1000?

Ella Stands

Our granddaughter is pulling up and standing! She is so pleased with herself as obvious in the photo. Right now she is a superfast crawler, so look out world! When she starts walking, there will be no stopping her.

We start our semi-annual trek to Texas today, flying to Sydney, then LA, then San Antonio. The beauty pictured here will be on our doorstep less than 24 hours after our arrival. We. Can't. Wait.

Hot Time in Perth

Long weekend weather was hot and it continues today. Over 36C for the last week and little relief for the rest of the week. Sunset fishermen love the heat for night fishing. Sunsets are spectacular!

Ella Update

Our precious little Miss Ella Grace is 7 months old! Here she is in her nursery with her bear. In the photo next to her is her "hours old" photo. Ella has a delightful personality. She laughs and smiles, puts herself to sleep at night, and lights up when her parents appear in the room with her. Here's a close-up!

My granddaughter is six months old now, drinking from her cup and eating Lucky Stars! She has this new silly face she makes to get laughs from her adoring fans. She looks more like her daddy everyday. Sixteen pounds of wonder!
