How this story ends is up to the lawyers. It's a complicated situation. Jeff Bagwell wants to play this season. The Houston Astros want him to play. The unresolved issue is whether or not Bagwell's injured shoulder will allow him to play. He says he won't know until he tries it out at Spring Training, but the Astros need an answer before that because the insurance policy taken out against Bagwell's healthy player status is enforcable two months before Spring Training begins. So will Bagwell play and who will pay him if he doesn't? There's $17million at stake on the answer to that question. Stay tuned. For a complete explanation of the Bagwell situation, click here.
