A Really Great Drop

Barratt Wines in the Adelaide Hills makes an unforgettable sauvignon blanc and a very fragrant rose. The owners lived for years in Dallas, Texas, then returned to Oz and started making great wines. We had lots to talk about when Aussie and I visited their winery. They love Texas and return often for visits with friends who still live in the Dallas area.

Tasting notes on bottle of sauvignon blanc: An aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, floral and herbaceous notes is followed by a lingering palate of similar characters balanced with a lively acidity.
Tasting notes on the bottle of rose: An enticing aroma of strawberries and roses followed by a palate with fresh strawberry characters balanced by lively acidity. Served cold it is delightful as an aperitiff or an accompaniment to most fish, salad, pasta, or Asian dishes. The rose is made exclusively from pinot noir grapes.

Barrett wines are sold through their mailing list. To get on the mailing list, click here.
