Gossip from the Aussie Open

If you're wondering about the blue bracelet Andy Roddick wears, go to his site where all is explained.

Lleyton and Bec Hewitt have signed a multimillion dollar contract with an Aussie women's magazine which prohibits them from commenting on their baby Mia or putting her in a position that other media outlets can photograph her. So you'll see Bec at courtside, but not baby Mia. She'll be in a room with no windows if she's there at all.

Amelie Mauresmo is still smarting over the "half a man" 1999 remark of Martina Hingis. She says that Hingis's attempted return to the game will fail because of the change in serve strength since Hingis left the game.

On the eve of the Open, Kim Clijsters hip injury has flared up. She thinks she can be ready for her Tuesday start, but she will have to play with painkillers.

Lleyton is "disappointed" in the surface of the courts at the Open. Evidently the organisers didn't listen to his complaint from last year and did not change the surface to a bouncier one for him this year! He did admit along with the complaint that all players would be dealing with the same surface he had to play on.
