Life at the Beach in WA
Today it's finally hot enough to go to the beach! We've been back in WA for two months and have experienced a very cool November and the coolest December on record for Perth. Ah, but today the beach awaits! Living 100meters from the water's edge means we get an early seabreeze; most hot days disappear into a light seabreeze by mid-morning and a strong seabreeze by mid-afternoon. Many days we swim in the morning and eat our dinner on the verandah at night dressed in sweaters. Our house does not have an ocean view. We traded the view for a more protected position so we could use our outdoor areas without blowing away. Anyone who has ever lived with the constant wind knows that it gets tiresome. So our house is tucked between other houses. They enjoy the view; we enjoy their protection.
